Destin High School, located in the picturesque city of Destin, Florida, “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village”, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our institution under the direction of our Executive Director as its Principal. This is a unique opportunity to guide and shape the future of our educational community. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary academic leadership, fostering a high-achieving learning environment, and ensuring the school’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Vision: In alignment with the executive’s directors Anchored for Success Plan, implement the strategic vision educational goals and standards, promoting excellence in all aspects of school operation.
- Curriculum Development and Instructional Leadership: Oversee the development and implementation of curricular and instructional practices that foster high academic achievement and student engagement.
- Staff Development: Lead, motivate, and support a high-performance teaching team; provide guidance and professional development opportunities to staff.
- Student Well-being: Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students that nurtures their academic and social-emotional development.
- Community Engagement: In conjunction with the executive director, act as a liaison between the school and the wider community, fostering relationships with parents, local businesses, and other stakeholders.
- Resource and Facility Management: Oversee the effective implementation and use of school resources and facilities to support educational objectives.
- Policy and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or higher in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Valid Florida Principal Certification or eligibility for certification.
- Demonstrated experience in educational leadership, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven track record of improving student achievement and fostering a positive school culture.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary is competitive and will be determined based on the Okaloosa County School Administration salary scale.
- Standard benefits package offered by Destin High School.
- Some aspects of the compensation package are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
