1. Eligibility
We offer a wide range of high quality of teaching and extra-curricular activities.
As a charter school, enrollment at DHS is capped and limited to the number of seats available. If the number of applications received does not exceed the school’s program, class, grade level, or building capacity, all students who have applied will receive invitations to enroll.
However, if the number of eligible applicants exceeds capacity, all eligible applicants will be placed in the lottery pool and be part of a random selection lottery after the closing of the application period. Once names have been drawn for all available seats, all remaining applicants will be drawn and placed on a waiting list in the order the name was drawn in the lottery.
Once an applicant has been admitted to the school and accepted the invitation to enroll, he/she is not required to reapply in future enrollment periods unless the student has officially declined to enroll or has officially withdrawn from Destin High School. Submission of an application package does not guarantee a seat. All applicants will be part of a lottery if the number of applicants exceeds available seats.
2. When to Apply
We pride ourselves in delivering the best education possible to our students.
Applications are accepted during designated application periods each year. The application periods for the 2023-24 school year are:
Jan. 17 – Feb. 16, 2023: Primary Application Period
Feb. 17 – Mar. 17, 2023: Secondary Application Period (if needed)
Remember that applying to Destin High School does NOT impact your enrollment or standing at your zoned/current high school. We do not send them notice of your application and our system is separate from the school district system. Only after you have accepted an invitation to attend Destin High School will formal registration and transfer of records occur.
Current students DO NOT need to reapply but will need to confirm their continued enrollment.
New students for 2023-24 must apply during our application period. Siblings of current students MUST APPLY.
3. How to Apply
Starting January 17, 2023, completed applications will be accepted and stamped with the date received at Destin High School, 4325 Commons Dr. W., Destin, FL 32541.
Applications will be accepted in person Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 pm or can be mailed. Applications will also be accepted electronically via email at: principal@destinhigh.org

The Application Packet contains the forms necessary to apply to Destin High School. Please read each form carefully and complete all information as appropriate. Be sure that all required signatures are completed as well.
4. Success
You will be welcomed into a thriving learning environment.
