Dribble it! Pass it! Our Lady Sharks are scoring lots of baskets! Come out to support our Sharks and Coach Katie at one of the basketball games!
Drumroll please! This month’s Golden Shark staff award was presented to Captain Parker. At each month’s Governing Board meeting, the board presents a staff member with the trophy and cash award to recognize the recipient’s “above and beyond” dedication to our students and Destin High School.

Captain Parker is the founder of our popular one-of-a-kind Fishing Program and teaches several of the classes. He has been a community ambassador for our school and students. His dedication to our mission and vision is admirable. (Not to mention he is one of the most popular fellas on campus for his ever present smile and willingness to listen, help and mentor.) Help us congratulate him in the comments below. Board Vice President, Virginia McBride is shown surprising Captain Parker with the trophy.
THIS JUST IN: Our Lady Sharks are bringing home the WIN! ⚽️ Congratulations!
Join the #GivingTuesday movement *TODAY* and support DESTIN HIGH, a 501c3 entity! Funds donated support academics, the student experience, extracurricular activities, cutting edge technology and software packages, our building expansion, faculty salaries, and professional development. #GIVINGTUESDAY campaign is $50,000. Together we give. Together we accomplish great things for the youth of our community.

Because of your donations, thus far, we've been able to offer our students a tuition-free, unique learning experience, typically only found in private education. Students that complete grades 9-12 receive an educational experience many value at over $112,000 at no cost.

How much should you give? Give an amount that is meaningful to you and makes sense for your family. Remember even small donations make a BIG impact! To increase the impact, see if your employer offers a matching gift program! Many do! THIS JUST IN: Is the thought of “TEACH AT THE BEACH,” music to your ears? Well…Spread the word! Here we "grow" again! Destin High students have requested a full band and music program and we plan to deliver! Destin High's music teacher will be responsible for leading our students, both experienced musicians and beginners wanting to learn more about music, to discover their creativity and build their music and instrumental skills, through a variety of engaging music experiences, including performance, instruction, band, competitions, field trips, and participation in Destin High School Music's program.

The music teacher will:
•
Lead all students through a progressive band method; teach the basics of note reading, rhythm reading, part playing, musical terminology, musical independence, practice habits and other skills needed to participate successfully in a concert
•
Ensure all students learn how to manage their instrument-- demonstrating an ability to construct and deconstruct instruments properly at the start and end of classes
•
Assist students to develop practice techniques that allow for instrument progress and talent.

Sounds like your type of gig? Apply now and join our incredible team of educators: https://destinhighschool.org/employee-application/

Happy Thanksgiving Sharks! What are you thankful for today?

We are thankful for our teachers, for the support of our generous community, for the lifelong friendships that are fostered on campus, for our parents, for delicious turkey and time off, of course!
THIS JUST IN // A Thanksgiving Message from our Executive Director, Mr. Williams. Happy Thanksgiving Week, Sharks!
SHARKS SERVE // Part 2

We caught our Sharks in action serving the community, during Crop Drop ‘23.

The DHS Leadership Class, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Business Leaders of America clubs, led by Mrs. Tucker, each volunteered to help pack sacks and sacks of fresh produce for those in need, this Thanksgiving. It’s a great day to be a Shark and to help take a bite out of hunger.
SHARKS SERVE! A Shark Salute goes out to our students, parents and staff, who volunteered for Crop Drop ‘23 this weekend in Destin. Volunteers prepared boxes of fresh fruits and veggies to be delivered to those in need on Thanksgiving. We love your hearts to serve!

CELEBRITY SIGHTING! Mrs. Tucker surprised her students by arranging for 2 celebrities from Gordon Ramsay’s NEW “Food Stars” show to do Zoom calls with her Entrepreneurship class this week!

The season winner/owner of @smartcups , @ceodadlife , and finale contestant, @carolinedamore from @pizzagirl met and mentored the class via Zoom.

To learn more about these 2 entrepreneurs and their success, Mrs. Tucker’s class watched the show, in class over the course of a few weeks and then ordered each of their products to try.

Afterwards, the class gave online reviews and wrote reflection papers on the business industry observations/takeaways as a result, such as marketing, professionalism, entrepreneurial skills, sales, etc.

Needless to say, our Sharks enjoyed this informative session with the celebs and are excited to put the lessons learned and tips shared to good use.
Happy Monday Sharks! It’s going to be a great week!
