Empowering student-athletes through the discipline and camaraderie of wrestling., fostering personal growth, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to physical and mental well-being. We have faith in our wrestlers and strive to have our wrestlers believe in themselves and be the best version of themselves by imparting our core values.
Core Values
Respect: Our team will respect each other, teachers, parents, officials, and opponents. Respect your teammate’s time and value the effort placed in becoming a team.
Integrity: Be trustworthy, act with honor uphold the standards. Don’t do anything immoral, illegal, or unethical.
Intelligence: 90% mental 10% physical. Wrestlers must think through situations, and stay ahead of their opponent. The education and understanding of practical solutions develop their knowledge of the sport.
Selfless: Place the team’s needs before yours. Be dependable and loyal.
Perseverance: Stay motivated. Mental toughness is the base for managing your emotions. Learning to control your emotions will allow you to push through the stress and fatigue. Failing is the first step of learning. Never quit! Get up and try again. Believe in yourself.
Accountability: Own the choices you make. Accept the outcomes whether positive or negative. Be accountable to your team.

Mr. Tamanini is a math teacher at Destin High School. Mr. Tamanini is in his 8th year teaching math, his 3rd year at DHS. Mr. Tamanini has taught everything from Honors Geometry to AP Statistics and AP Calculus during his time at Destin High School. Before Destin High School, he taught in Northern Virginia at Manassas Park High School where he also served as the Varsity Wrestling Coach for 5 years. He attended Lock Haven University in northern Pennsylvania, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
Outside of school, he enjoys spending time at the beach, playing video games, doing diy projects around the house, and spending time with his friends. During football season he can be found cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers every weekend. Throughout the summer months he enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling, spending time with family and friends back in Pennsylvania, and relaxing at home.
Mr. Tamanini teaches most of the upper level math courses at DHS but is always willing to help students whether they are his current students or not. He always strives to help them be the best students they can be and wants to see them succeed in all aspects of their lives.
