Culinary Club
Culinary Club
The Culinary Club provides students with a fun, hands-on opportunity to explore the culinary arts beyond the traditional classroom. Students will learn about cooking and baking techniques, food preparation, kitchen safety, teamwork, creativity, and different foods and flavors. Throughout the year, we’ll incorporate tastings, demonstrations, hands-on activities, bake sales and experiences that give students a glimpse into the many possibilities within the culinary industry. The club will meet twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Fridays after the 11:45am early dismissal for approximately two hours.
Meet the Chef
Chef Lasheeda Perry, a professional pastry chef and culinary entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in the food and hospitality industry. Her love for culinary arts began and was nurtured during her own high school years, which makes it especially meaningful for her to now share that passion with students. She went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Baking & Pastry Arts from Johnson & Wales University and has worked in fine dining professional kitchens and been featured on several Food Network platforms. Chef Lasheeda Perry is excited to bring her experience and passion for culinary arts to Destin High School and create an environment where students can learn, experiment, and have fun.
