Only 8 Weeks Until the First Day of School!Dear Destin High School Families,
The countdown is on! We are now just 8 weeks away from the first day of school on August 11, 2026, and our team is hard at work preparing for another outstanding year at Destin High School. According to the 2026-2027 school calendar, Student Readiness Day is scheduled for August 7 (11am - 1pm) and classes begin Tuesday, August 11.
As we continue our summer countdown series, we wanted to share important information regarding employment opportunities, athletics, student activities, attendance expectations, and a special opportunity to support DHS while celebrating America's upcoming 250th Birthday.

📅 Attendance Matters
One of the strongest predictors of student success is consistent attendance.At Destin High School, attendance is expected every school day. Instructional time is valuable, and every day students miss creates gaps in learning, collaboration, and classroom engagement.
As families make travel plans for the upcoming year, we strongly encourage vacations and extended trips to be scheduled during school holidays and breaks whenever possible.

- Winter Recess (December 19–January 6)
