A interest meeting for Student Council will be held Thursday morning August 22 at 7:30am in the cafeteria. We will be discussing up coming applications and elections. If you can't make it please see Mrs. Gill or Mrs. Crabtree

The Sophomore class meeting will be held at the beginning of the enrichment period 8:56-9:15 am on Thursday, August 22. The meeting will discuss class officer selection.

Dual Enrollment Informational Session for parents and students: On August 29, 2024, a representative from Northwest Florida State College will be coming to speak to current and potential future students taking dual enrollment classes. They are discussing the new registration process for students signing up for spring 2024 classes at NWFSC. Please join us from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Destin High School Auditorium.

Dear Parents and Guardians, We are excited to remind you that the Q1 Awards Ceremony will take place tomorrow at 2 PM. If your child will be recognized, we encourage you to join us and celebrate their achievements! Dual Enrollment parents and students: On October 21, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the Shark Tank (Auditorium) Mr. Means and Ms. Marsh will be offering an informational session for parents and students who have already qualified for dual enrollment. If you have a 3.0 GPA and have earned qualifying PERT scores, please join us to go over the Canvas Class that will show how to do “Request” forms starting on October 23, 2024. We will also go over how students can register themselves for classes at NWFSC on Nov. 12, 2024, for the spring semester.

Attention Sophomores: Destin High School will be administering the PSAT for sophomores on October 23 at 8 AM, with the cost covered by the Florida Department of Education. The PSAT serves as excellent preparation for the SAT. When students take the PSAT again during their junior year, they may become eligible for the prestigious National Merit® Scholarship Program. All sophomore students are automatically registered for this test—no additional steps are needed. Attention Juniors: Destin High will be paying for and administering the PSAT on October 23 at 8 AM. Students: We have midterm exams Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with a special midterm exam schedule. School will start at its normal time - 8am - but we will be dismissed after the 2nd exam period at 12:20. Busses will depart at 12:30. All exams are 2 hours, and you may not check in or out during the exam period; however, you MAY check in or out between exams. Lunch will be served between exams with a modified menu. There will be NO busses and NO lunch served on Thursday. That day is for makeup exams by appointment with your teacher. [...]

Classic Learning Test - Similar to SAT, can be used for College Entrance and for FSA Graduation Requirements

Classic Learning Test - Similar to SAT, can be used for College Entrance and for FSA Graduation Requirements. Destin High School will be administering the Classic Learning Test (CLT) for Juniors and Seniors on April 10th. The CLT is a college entrance exam accepted by Florida Colleges and Universities as well as most schools in the southeastern states. These results can also be used for concordant scores for graduation purposes. The cost will be $30.00 and the deadline for payment is 3/12/25. Register at this link: https://igfn.us/form/5fJ6Jg
